Now

Updated March 13, 2025 from Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

It has been awhile since I updated my Now page. I used to just delete my old updates and replace them with new ones. I thought, however, that it would be interesting to retain them to see how I have changed (or stayed the same) over time.

Comparing what’s on my mind now versus almost three years ago seems like a kind of gift of personal reflection, wrapped in a bow.

The idea behind the Now page is to provide an update like I would to an old friend that I ran into about the things that are currently occupying my thoughts and guiding my actions. This is where I learned about Now pages.

And now… my update 🙂

I’ve missed creating things, so I’m changing that.

I am getting excited about dusting off my old websites and learning more about creating content that people might connect with now. The pandemic, and creating courses for my day job kind of took my energy for creating things for myself over the past few years… but I’m happy to share that I am stretching into this again!

One thing that I am excited about… I started a Booktube channel to chat about what I’m reading, and to force myself to learn how to talk to a camera and edit videos. It has definitely been a steep learning curve, and completely outside of my comfort zone…

…BUT…

…I actually am enjoying the (time-consuming, anxiety-inducing, but cathartic) process!

I haven’t proven to be consistent with it, but I suppose that wasn’t really my motivating intention.

I’m also reviewing my old websites (like this one), and thinking about what new directions I might want to take them.

A new decade of life, and some reflections.

At the tail end of 2024, I entered a new decade of life (as in, a “new to me” number starts my age).

While probably completely in my head, this new decade did not start off with the bang I was hoping for. I was sick and low-energy for the first 6 weeks of this new decade, and have been reflecting on my own mortality way more than I did before my most recent birthday (not to be morbid or anything).

This reality, coupled with reflecting on The Power of Regret (affiliate link) – a great book that can help transform past regrets into future actions, has made me want to take action on a few things that I have been putting off for one reason or another.

While I won’t drone on about this entire list of actions, I will share that I am all in on improving my health (yes – physical, mental, and spiritual), so that I can be the most effective, energetic, and capable contributor to humanity while I live and breathe.

Which leads me to my next update…

I’m excited about springtime!

My husband and I experimented with growing some vegetables and herbs last summer. This week I got some seeds to plant more, and I’ll likely get some plantlings started in the next day or two. I can’t wait!

My guiding theme for 2025 is ENERGY!

I am anemic, so “general malaise” is par for the course.

I am, however, being more intentional about my awareness of what energizes me and what drains my energy. The hope is that I surround myself with more of the former, and give off those same vibes for others to enjoy!

I’m hoping to channel Gurdeep vibes!

It’s a work in progress… but I’m here for it!

(Also, I’ve redoubled my efforts to take my iron supplements to help with my IRL anemia. Wish me continued luck on that front!)

I’m expanding my AI/ML and Cloud computing skills.

I am also excited about diving deeper into Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning skills in the cloud. I recently sat for the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification Exam again (since my original certification expired), and am continuing my AWS journey into AI, Cloud Architecture, and Machine Learning.
